    Hi there!

I'm a bit new to symantec. At my job a I got a task to solve mobile security + BYOD + mobile device managemnt with symantec products.

I've been strugling arround now for a few days. I installed Endpoit Protection Manager on Windows server and Mobility Manager to Centos... but now I'm a bit lost. Trying to read thorou symantec docs, dead URL links, and all the mess about past and currnet products...

Can someone please give me a plain clear overview what I need:
    - we need a centralized mobile antivirus managment and deployment
    - we need  centralized mobile managemnt? does symantec provides that?

    Please help,

    Peter

Symantec Endpoint Protection manager (SEPM) only provides protection for endpoints (workstations/servers). It does not do mobile devices.

Yes but it has been set to End of Life, here is Symantec's statement on it:

    https://www.symantec.com/connect/blogs/symantec-mo...

Doesn't appear they will be replacing it with anything going forward:

Symantec has concluded that Mobility Suite does not have a place in the new unified security strategy. Mobility Suite’s share of the EMM market had been declining and it would require significant investment to become on par with and eventually surpass the current market leaders. Given that the key tenant of the unified security strategy is to provide customers with cloud-based solutions moving forward, the decision was made to discontinue investing in SMS and focus on next generation unified security solutions.

Aha, ok, great, more thing are clearer now :)

So, "Symantec Mobility: Suite" is out, ok.
If I understand the blogpost correctly it says that anoter product (SEPM?) will provide unifided managment of all devices (workstations/server and mobile devices), right? But it does not support it now?

Symantec is focusing on unified endpoint management and protection capabilities for traditional endpoints (laptops, desktops, and servers) as well as modern endpoints (mobile devices, tablets) and will continue to invest in these capabilities.

So - what symantec product can we use for centralized Mobile antivirus managemnt?

    This is all that's mentioned:

Symantec is focusing on unified endpoint management and protection capabilities for traditional endpoints (laptops, desktops, and servers) as well as modern endpoints (mobile devices, tablets) and will continue to invest in these capabilities.

Right now, SEP, DCS, or DLP are used on mobile. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens in future.
