Here's the question - We have our sepm which is using Sql database. We wanted to migrate to embedded. I saw a forum thread where disaster recovery is suggested and instead of sql, embedded database needed to be created amd then older database is restored. So the question is, which password it will use to login to sepm? Another question - If i have an sepm with embedded database and we have changed the admin password several times. So if i restore the database to fresh sepm, will it allow me to login to sepm with current password or the first password that i used while installing sepm (as far as i know embedded database password is the password when we first install sepm) And what if i dont recall first embedded password?

Please find answers to your questions below. We have our sepm which is using Sql database. We wanted to migrate to embedded. I saw a forum thread where disaster recovery is suggested and instead of sql, embedded database needed to be created amd then older database is restored. So the question is, which password it will use to login to sepm? You will have to use the password from your old sql dB as that's what will be overwritten in the new embedded dB. If i have an sepm with embedded database and we have changed the admin password several times. So if i restore the database to fresh sepm, will it allow me to login to sepm with current password or the first password that i used while installing sepm (as far as i know embedded database password is the password when we first install sepm) And what if i dont recall first embedded password? Yes you will be able to login to your sepm with the recent password. But the database password will be your first time password used for admin account. Well if you don't have the password then you can't use the backup and have to start a fresh

Thanks PraveenAyappan, "using old sql password after restoring the database" - is this the current password for sql you are talking about or the password of sql when i first installed sepm with sql?

It's the current password that you used to login to sepm as this is what will be capture in the database backup that you took in the first place.
