  • 1.  Symantec DLP End Point Solutions for WhatsApp

    Hi there and good day to all!

    May I check if existing Symantec DLP solutions would allow detection/inspection of both (i) multimedia file attachments and their contents as well as (ii) text messages that have been sent, via the WhatsApp web application running on any internet browser?

    Hi. 

    if you are using Symantec DLP for Endpoints , you have to create policy with recepient pattern and put in the url web.whatsapp.com and make sure to enable Application file access on all the browsers from system > agent > application monitoring.

     

    Please note that the https post won't work with chrome (but it can be controled if you have symantec dlp network prevent for web which integrates with the proxy)
