  • 1.  Symantec Drive Encryption SSO does not synch with Win10

    Hi,

I had to change my Win10 password and now my Symantec Drive Encyption Single Sign On password does not resynch to my new Win10 password after restarting my PC.

I found the Symantec support document "TECH216805" (http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH216805).

This describes my issue perfectly, however Solution 1 does not work.

ie. I have changed my windows login back to a local login, and changed my windows password, restarted my PC, but still the PGP password does not re-synch to the new local windows password. I have restarted again, but still no change.

Please can someone help / advise?

    Many thanks in advance.

There may be a problem with reconciling the old account (MS Account) with the new local user account.  Try the following:
    1. Add a new user to Symantec Encryption Desktop.  Use a non-domain, non-SSO user account, this is only temporary to make sure there is a user on the disk at all times.
    2. Delete the original user.
    3. Re-create the SSO user with your local login account.
    4. Reboot.
    5. Login with your new SSO user.  If successful, delete the non-SSO user when you get back into Windows.

After that, you may want to try a ctrl+alt+del password change, and verify that it syncs the new password.
