  • 1.  Symantec Email Proxy exclusions??

Is it possible to exclude a particular program from being scanned or blocked by the Email Proxy?

We have an in-house built application that sends e-mail invoices from a computer directly to our mail server.  Sometimes we send only a few and non popups, but the times when we send a lot out we get this popup.

I've looked online and in the manager and cannot see a place to exclude this program.  I would rather NOT remove this feature from his computer, as it has already proven its worth by stopping a mass-mailing work on another computer.

Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

We cannot create exclusions for Internet Email Auto Protect or OutLook Email AP.

If you are having issues with that then you can remove the Email Plugin

I really don't want to disable this key feature from the client.  It basically leaves a hole open on our network, and that's not something I'm happy doing.

Is there a posibility to have a trusted exclusion list, or at least a way to allow third-party programs to send e-mail to trusted mail servers without the proxy blocking the attempts?

I know I'm not the only one experiencing this, and this is a serious security issue for us as a company.

Do you know if this is being addressed, or is the concensus to disable e-mail antivirus/anti-spam plugin?
In my mind, that makes the client useless.

Would you drive in a car with half the safety features disabled?  Not me...

When you've been hit with a mass-mailing worm, you get edgy when the feature you rely on to help prevent that form happening again, needs to be disabled.

I'm no fortune teller... but I can see this "can of worms"... and it's being opened.
