    Hi guys,

I've just stepped up to my new role, so bear with me. My original fault is that SEPM cannot connect to the server (despite logging in, on said missing server). I'm in the process of tracing the fault, and I've got as far as:

"The Symantec Embedded Database service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."

Everytime I try and run it manually, I get this error. Endpoint Launcher and  Manager Webservices are all running. (They have been restarted to no avail). I have read on another forum that the user was also getting an error from "semsrv 4096". Could not create a FileOutputStream for System.Out redirect. I am also getting that error. We're running Server 2012 on a Virtual enviroment. 170GB of free space on C:/. Oh, and we're running Small buisness 12.1.

Any help (and patience) would be greatly appreciated...

Can you check the scm-server-0.log file

Also, please run the symdiag tool for additional error checking

Download SymDiag to detect Symantec product issues

    Hi Brian,

Thanks for your post, but my boss has done some "IT voodoo" and it's all up and runing now.
