    Hello,

Is it possible to add an email sender's S/MIME certificate to Symantec Encryption Desktop?

I am trying to encrypt a file for a Symantec colleague who only seems to have access to an S/MIME certificate.

    Cheers,

    Cameron

Just to clarify, you mean you wish to import the recipient's (i.e. import an external contact's public key) certificate in order to be able to send them an encrypted email, is this correct?

The below article describes how to import keys in general:
    http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO42073

While the below article states there are errors with some s/mime certs:

Just import the certificate like you would a key.  File > Import > navigate to key.  Job done.  PGP will automatically detect its SMIME and you'll still see it in your keys list.
