  • 1.  Symantec End Point not scanning in safemode Win 7 x64

    Hello,

    I have been trying to run a full scan on my computer as threats have been popping up every once in awhile of the same type. I cannot enter safemode using the F8 key, so did so via the msconfig interface. Now that I have entered safemode on my laptop, I can get the UI to start up, but the scans will not run. All it says is Scan failed: scan failed to start, inside a symantec endpoint protection dialog box. Any suggestions? Thank you.

    Try running the SERT utility to find and remove the threat.

    Another good Symantec utility to use, is the Power Eraser Tool.
