    Hello
The company I work for has deployed SEE 8.2 MP13 via SCCM and now I am no longer able to reformat my harddisk.
I have tried using the recover disk to decrypt the drive, but the dat file I got says it does not match. I have tried diskpart and get I/O erros.
I have tried running the secure erase from the HP BIOS, but it just says that HDD is HW encrypted. How can I get this harddisk decrypted or at least formatted so that I can rebuild the pc. The model is a HP Elitebook 820 G1 laptop and the Disk is a Samsung 840 Pro 125 GB OPAL drive.
I was told that SEE 8.2 does not support this OPAL driver and I wonder if it has meesed it up so much that I need to buy a new SSD disk. Everything seems very locked down with no ability to do anything with the harddisk .

Any assitance would be more than welcome .

    Thank you

You should not need to buy a new disk, however the disk will need a 'reset' of the factory settings.  You will need to contact Samsung and ask them for the PSID Revert Tool for the drive.  That should restore the drive to factory state.

Samsung does not like giving out the tool, and I have had some customers report that they were instead asked to send the drive back to them, and were given a replacement.  I have noticed the trend for this being for the 850 drives more than the 840's.  They may not have a PSID Revert Tool for the 850 that is publicly accessible.
