    When setting up Symantec Endpoint AV client on the same server as the Symantec Endpoint Manager server are there files and or directories that I should avoid scanning… And would it be best to turn off any features to avoid problems.

    you need not have to turn off / have folder exclusions on the server running same sepm and sep
    they are compatible and its necessary that you need to have sep installed on the server running sepm
    coz sepm is just a console not an anitivirus software, they can run together without any problems or exclusion.
