    Hi,

I am wondering if I load the Symantec Endpoint Protection CD onto a computer that is already infected with viruses, will the software clean the viruses from this computer?  Or will it only protect the computer from future infections?

You can also try running the Norton Security Scan tool to check you system for threats before installing your AV.

There's a good chance that SEP will not install properly as some threats prevent the installation of AV software.  If you are an enterprise customer, it's recommended you download the Symantec Endpoint Recovery Tool via Fileconnect, burn it to CD, boot from that and scan the drive that way to clean it prior to putting SEP on it.

You also might want to try the Symantec Power Eraser tool.
