    Hi, everyone:

I have a server that has SEP 14 working just fine, but the Symantec Endpoint Protection Mager service is missing from the Services console in Windows.

I ran Autoruns and I can see the semsrv service in the Service tab; I also ran Process Explorer and it is running. I even tried with the sc query semsrv command and it is up and running.

I exported the semsrv registry key from a working machine and from my machine where the service is missing and compared them using KDiff3 and there is not any difference at all.

So, any Idea how can I get the service back to the console?

    Thanks a lot.

Is this a client machine with SEP installed? If so, you won't see a SEPM service on a client install.

If this is the SEPM, you should see 4 services in total.

If this is a SEP client than what you see is correct. This looks like the SEP client to me.

    in services.msc

check if you have connected to a different host rather than the Local Host

What a fool! You were completely rigth, that was the SEPM, but was connecting to a client machine from the Services console.
