  • 1.  Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager using 30GB of space

    Posted Nov 13, 2013 07:05 AM

    Hi,

We have Symantec endpoint manager 12.1.671.4971. Our server C: drive is nearly full and the main reason is that EP is taking up about 30GB of space. I was wondering if anyone can help me either reduce this or do something about it. The folders that have the most usage are as follows:

    c:\program files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint protection manager\db uses 20gb

    c:\program files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint protection manager\inetpub uses 6.2gb

    c:\program files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint protection manager\data uses 2gb

The main usage seems to be the db, is there a way to reduce this safely?

    Appreciate all help,

    Gramzon

    Hello,

First of all, I would suggest you to migrate the SEP SBE 12.1.671 to the Latest version of SEP SBE 12.1.4013

    http://www.symantec.com/connect/blogs/latest-symantec-endpoint-protection-released-sep-121ru4

For Symantec Endpoint protection manager\inetpub, follow the steps below to adjust the number of content updates stored by Symantec Protection Center:

    1. Open the \Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\etc\conf.properties file.
    2. Add the following setting to the file, (the example uses a value of 5, adjust the value as necessary, the default value is 10 if no entry is present) scm.lucontentcleanup.threshold=5
    3. Close the conf.properties file and click Yes to save your changes.
    4. Click Start > Run.
    5. Type services.msc and click OK.
    6. Right-click on Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, and click Restart.
    7. Close Services.

Within a short period of time the numbered content folders should adjusted to the value that you selected.

    For, Symantec Endpoint protection manager\db

What is the size of sem5.log?

I would suggest you to run the dbvalidator and check if the database has no issues.

Secondly, did you try the Utility from:

    Hope that helps!!
