Endpoint Protection

Hi,

In Windows Server 2003 SP1 I am getting following side by side errors.Please find the below errors.

Please help me on this.

Error 1

Component identity found in manifest does not match the identity of the component requested

Error 2

Generate Activation Context failed for C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.1101.401.105\Bin\SDPck32i.dll. Reference error message: The manifest file contains one or more syntax errors.

Error 3

Syntax error in manifest or policy file "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.1101.401.105\Bin\Microsoft.VC90.CRT.MANIFEST" on line 4.

This is in windows event log?

Is the SEP client showing any error or running as expected?

This is resolved in SEP12.1RU2, but a workaround is described in the below article:

I would suggest you to -

Upgrade Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package to the latest version. It is also recommended to review Microsoft’s best practices for patching the OS.
