I am working on Log Name:      Application
    Source:        Symantec AntiVirus
    Date:          4/14/2010 7:41:06 PM
    Event ID:      22
    Task Category: None
    Level:         Warning
    Keywords:      Classic

Symantec Endpoint Protection Auto-Protect failed to load.Application has encountered an error.
For more information, please go to: http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/servlet/ProductMessages?product=SAVCORP&version=11.0.5002.290&language=english&module=1000&error=0067&build=symantec_ent

Endpoint Protection reports File System Auto-Protect is malfunctioning.

I downloaded Symantec Endpoint Protection Support Tool and tried to run it and get Windows Security These Files can't be opened. It appears the application is trying to go back on the Internet to a location. Where is the program trying to go?

    It's trying to update itself.

Its trying to connect to the internet and further to the Symantec site to get the latest build of the SEP tool.

I am not looking for why the application is going out onto the Internet but exactly what URL it is going to.
Apparently I will have to declare the site(s) trusted in Windows Explorer 8.

    I would try adding *.symantec.com.

Are you running it as administrator?  I am just wondering too if UAC is interfering.

I just downloaded the tool on a Windows 7 32bit computer and the program opened without a Windows Security These Files can't be opened.

Does this Symantec Endpoint Protection Support Tool run on Windows 7 64bit?

    Yes, running as administrator.

As I last posted this is looking like a Windows 7 64 bit problem

To the best of my knowledge, for all systems that are supported for SEP installations, the SEP Support Tool should run on them (except Macs smiley).

I found this document on your event ID from your original post.  I also wonder if whatever's causing this error is also causing the Support Tool not to work.

It does seem you are correct in that Event ID 22 and the Symantec Endpoint Protection Support Tool problems were related. I cleared the Event ID 22 by rerunning the Liveupdate. (At least I have not seen any Event ID 22 warning since the day this thread was started).

I did run the Symantec Endpoint Protection Support Tool on Windows 7 64 bit computer.
