Currently we have a 142-nodes system (System A) where we would like to install SEP. At the same time, our System A will need to interface with another System (System B) also using SEP. The objective is to allow the "Symantec Distribution Workstation" in System B to obtain and distribute latest Virus definition and security updates to all nodes in both System A and System B.
System B - SEP Version: 12.1.671.4971
System A - SEP Version: 12.1.4104.4130 - Trial Version downloaded online
Our question is:
1. We have downloaded a trial version and installed in one of the node in system A. It was found that 4GB Freespace is required for installation of SEP. Is it mandatory to have this 4GB freespace before installation? This is because we have very limited freespace in the 142 nodes in System A.
2. How much space is required for SEP installation and space requirements after installation, for both Server and client?
3. After testing and verification with the trial version, we intend to purchase the installation media (box) with paper license. May I know is there any differences between the trial version and the licensed version?
4. After obtaining the installation media boxes, can we just update the licenses of the trial version OR we need to uninstall trial version and reinstall the SEP with Licenses?
5. Please advise the compatibility of the SEP version used in System A and System B. Compatible means a same shared platform can be used to update Virus definition and security updates.
6. Can the trial version installation file downloaded online be used for installation in both Windows Server 2008 (Standard 32-bit) and Windows 7? Also same installation file for SEP Manager and Client?
