    Hello,

I have ran into this issue before and have another post from last year on the same issue. What keeps happening is the download file or pkg file appears in the download folder location in the symantec folder on the C drive. If I remove that pkg file it seems to clear it up. However, we have quite a few that are having this happen. What the suggested fix was last time is smc -stop and then remove the file and then smc -start. and see if that works. That does work. However, since it's happening again, it's hogging bandwidth and our engineers do not like it.

Is there a way to prevent this?

    Thanks

I think I created this in the wrong topic discussion. I will recreate in another forum topic.

    Hi,

yes, it is a known issue and there are some specific events that trigger it.
The most common one is to deploy the package over the night, straddling the midnight.

This issue is expected to be fully fixed, both Manager and client's side, on SEP 11.0 RU7.

    Hi,

Possible Cause: Once the Install Package has been assigned to the group and the client receives the config.xml with the schedule, they start a timer. Removing the install package updates the config.xml correctly but the timer still persists.

Possible Workaround: Add an install package with a previous version or the same version as the currently installed client version listed in the group. It will resolve your bandwidth issue.

This will cause the clients to compare and reject the proposed upgrade as it is not needed and cancel the active timer.
