  • 1.  Symantec Enpoint Manager not getting latest definitions

    Posted Aug 26, 2014 11:12 PM

    Hi All,

One of my customer's SEPM 11.0 suddenl stopped getting latest definitions from the liveupdate. The latest update is stuck at 15/7/14. But I've check the Log.liveupdate and SESLu.log it stated that latest update was retrieved. I even manually downloaded the intelligent updater .jdb file and load on the inbox/content/incoming folder of the Symantec. The jdb file was unpacked and uploaded to the Inetpub in Symantec folder but still not updated.

I've tried a few links from Symantec to delete corrupted definition

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH103176

    But still not working.

I was wondering if SEPM had reaches its end-of-support and stopped updating virus definitions. Or somehow it detects that there isn't any subscriptions. But my understanding there isn't a place in SEPM to upload/install any SLF file.

    Please advise.

are you placing the jdb in the right location?

check all the drives , if you have moved the db location incoming folder will be on another drive as well

What is the disk space avaialble in SEPM?

Low disk space may be the reason of failure.

    Hi All,

The diskspace is still ok with around 20GB available. The JDB should be in the right location as I followed the Symantec article. And indeed it unpack the definitions.

Reinstall Liveupdate is the last thing I will try but I believe the liveupdate is working as it download the definitions. My issue is that it doesn't apply definitions onto the SEPM.

What database are you using ?

See below articles if you are using SQL database

11.0 SEPMs using SQL 2005 databases are not properly processing/publishing AV definition updates
