    To whom it may concern,

As of recently we have experienced a lot of failed upgrades to the latest Symantec Endpoint Cloud AV product. The result of these failures was having a paid version of MalwareBytes installed. Even though the MalwareByes service and protection was disabled before the Symantec installation began the Symantec product still failed to install.

Previously these two products could co-exists. Now, without any notification MalwareBytes has suddenly become incompatible with managed Symantec Endpoint Anti-Virus Protection. I have also seen similar behavior with the online banking security software called “Trusteer Rapport” security software. If Symantec's installation fails to install there should be a prompt / notification that there is a conflict with another already installed security product. Or better yet, before the Symantec install is performed the user should be prompted of incompatible software that already exists before the installation proceeds.

I believe MalwareBytes SHOULD NOT prevent the installation of Symantec Endpoint Protection and the two pieces of software should complement one another. There are many different types of Malware that Symantec refuses to stop yet, MalwareBytes removes (such as PUPs). These two products do not interfere with one another in anyway as I've tested in the past and they should still be able to co-exist today. Please remove MalwareBytes the Symantec blacklist.

    Thanks,

    Paul

Thanks for the feedback.  We will work with the Security Agent team to review the hard block with malwarebytes.
