does the setup file exist on the end user machine, if yes, you can give a managed client package to the end user ti install, with the help of the screen shot. Or you may need to use the silent install using the .msi file.

The command used there are in the installation guide. once copied in txt file, rename that file with extension .bat and ask user to click on the .bat file. Use the setup file from the \\server\vphome\clt-inst\win32

    on your installation CD1
    open a folder called SAV
    run the setup.exe
if it asks for server / client
    select server.
    this should install fine.
let me now if you are facing any issue

This is a laptop outside of the network and you are trying to install as Unmanaged (Self Managed right)

seems like it has an earlier  version installed and its corrupted
so, when you try to install this , its trying to uninstall that ( wont be able to coz its corrupted)
you first need to repair the existing install
    2 ways of doing it
    1) go to add / remove prograsm, do a repair of current install ( check the version)
it wil ask for network share, you need to select a valid source path which has that version source
this will repair it and later you will be able to do the instal as mentioned above

    2) download this tool, run it, remove previous version, install the new one.

will work perfectly, let me know if you have any questions'

    Copy the GRC.DAT file from \\<AV Server>\VPHOME\
Put the file inside SAV Folder and run setup.
If GRC file is present with the setup files, it wont ask for managed/unmanaged selection. It installs AV and you will find the server name in Symantec GUI...

I have already viewed this registy entry for both "user-admin-p" and "user-admin-r" and the data for both keys is simply a string of alpha-numeric text. Is that the correct data or should this be the actual username and password?
