  • 1.  SYMC PROTECTION ENGINE

    Hi,

    Currently customer is using SYMC PROTECTION ENGINE 7.0 and upon renewing, it will be version 7.5

    2 scenarios

    1.does customer need to upgrade to 7.5?

    If yes, what version of OS is supported?

     

    2.if customer choose to remain as 7.0

    Can they downgrade?

    7.5.1 is the latest version. I'm not sure which 7.0 version you're on but take note that the upgrade from 7.0.3 to version 7.5.0 is not supported. You can upgrade version 7.0.3 to version 7.5.1 or later.

    System Requirements for 7.5.1 can be found in the implementation guide HERE

    Support for 7.0 is good until October 1st, 2019. There is no need to upgrade if you chose not to but it's always recommended.

    currently we have 7.0.x version do we need to install 7.5 now ? Pl. also clarify

    can we downgrade the license to version 7.0 after license is renewed?

    You can stay on 7.0.x if you wish, it remains a supported product.

    You would need to contact support for them to handle this.
