  • 1.  Symtdi.sys causing blue screen (Win XP Pro)

    recently installed Endpoint protection Ver 11.0.6100.645

    keep getting system crash, Blue screen referencing Symtdi.sys

    the Os is Win Xp Pro (service pack 3) 

    Is this a norton issue?

    can anyone help?

    Did you have any other Symantec Software on this system in the past? If so, make sure to delete all files and folders of the previous product, then remove and reinstall SEP again. 

     

    If that fails to resolve the issue, you might want to open a case with support.

    You mentioned that the file in question is Symtdi.sys. How did you identify this , did you analyse the complete memory dump?.

     

    Have you installed all the features of Endpoint. If yes then try keeping only the AV/AS feature and check whether the issue occurs.

    Sometimes I see this on OEM machines. If it is a Dell, HP, etc., I would recommend getting the service tag from the machine and visiting the makers website. Here you can ensure all drivers/software is up to date. If you have ensured everything is 100% updated your best bet will be to open a support case so we can look into the issue for you.
