  • 1.  Sysprep: xml vs. inf in GSS 3.2x

    Posted Jul 21, 2017 03:24 PM

We are moving to a clean installation of GSS 3.2x from our long-standing 6.9 system. Distribution of an image in the 6.9 system defaults to a sysprep .xml file. In GSS 3.2x the format calls for .inf. We want to use our existing Windows 7 image and xml file but are uncertain about how to proceed. I have tried changing to show "all files" and select the xml file but GSS 3.2x does not seem to use it. How can we use the sysprep.xml in GSS?

    Greg,

.xml files work just fine in the GSS 3.2 environment. Please see below screenshots.

If you are still running into issues, try upgrading to GSS 3.2 RU2.

We are already at RU2 however are still not successfull. We are using the same Windows 7 Professional x64 image and xml file as in 6.9, and using the same configuration in the "Distribute Disk Image" task. We have set it to "all files" and selected the file. I cannot find what is being missed.

    Greg,

I would recommend calling in so the Ghost Solution Suite team can assist. It is hard to pinpoint the issue when I cannot verify your job configuration and .xml file.

The screenshots above are how you would use a custom.xml file when deploying an image. If this is still not working then something else is going on.
