    Hey everyone

    We are running our Altiris Mangement server with version 7.6 HF7. We have around 83 site servers spread all over the country and the locations not having the task servers report directly to our Central task server. Now we have checked that if any task server is not registered in any of the site servers then it is connecting to our central task server for the packages and hence it is consuming huge bandwidth since all these locations are big locations with more than 200 clients. Will like to know is there any way we can view status of the task server in the site server s whether the same is working fine or is there any problem or is there any way that it can be notified to the admnistrators.

    Hi Dwaipayan,

    To achieve your requirement, you can log in to Altiris console and in Home Page you can Edit the view. In Edit option you can add Task Server and Task Computers and Device which you find under Task Management in web part. Check whether it can help you to get your desire result or not.

    Given screenshot for your reference.

    Hi Arabind,

    Thanks for your update and help and I have done the changes in my console hompage as suggested by you. But will like to know is there any way that we can automate the same and get any notification.

    Hi,

    I have setup a workflow which calls the url http://%taskserver%/Altiris/ClientTaskServer/GetComputerCount.aspx on all remote task servers. If the task server is running fine you get a reply with the amout of clients connected to the task server.

    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <response result="success">2</response>

    If the workflow finds a taskserver which does not reply as expected I send an email to myself.
