  • 1.  Is there a SFTP server owned by Symantec?

    Posted Sep 29, 2016 07:41 PM

    Hi guys!

I kown there is a public FTP server (ftp://ftp.symantec.com) and we can download the Virus Definitions from there, but on my network is blocked the FTP port. So the client is asking for a SFTP server to download this kind of files.

    Hope someone can help me.

    Greetings!

Does your FTP program support SFTP. If so, try to download that way. The site you mentioned is the only one I know of but perhaps it supports sftp

you can simply download defintions from the HTTPs site from the below link, I know that's not what you are looking for but its over SSL.

    Thanks!

I tried with WinSCP but the connection fails because the server doesn't accept SFTP connections.

I know that we can download the definitions from the security response but I want to download the files automatically, and the easiest way to do it is from the FTP.

    Greetings!
