Unable to Create Software Resource

    Hi All,

    While creating any software resource thru Software Library i faced attached error message.Kindly suggest if this is something related proper Permission/rights issue.

    What Altirs log viewer shows?

    Did you try to manually install this .msi? Isn't it really corrupted msi?

    Thansk for reply!!

    I checked Altiris log veiwer and thers is nothing related to this.My colleagues are able to create resource and I checked manually msi does work fine. This issue follows me on whichever computer I login so I suspect this is related to my profile only.... any suggestions where I can look to rectify this.

    Does your AD account have access to the folder the msi is in?

    What rights do you have in the Symantec Management Platform?

    Are you sure there's no error in the log file on the NS? It's very unusual for the console to throw an error and not have it show in the NS log.

    What if you are logged on to the NS directly?

    I checked there is no errro related to this in Log viewer..

    I am Part of Everyone & Authenticated users Group as like my other colleagues..

    Yes..I trie directy to create resource from NS console..but same.

    Did you try to import another software resource, using for example Source: "Access package from an existing UNC"  instead from defined "Software catalog"?

    Looks like your account doesn't have all apropriate permissions within defined "Software catalog".

    Yes..I am able create resource using UNC path option..only issue with Software Catalog..

    So any suggestion where i can edit the rights as per requirenment..

    I would expect your colleagues to be part of more thaan just "Everyone" and "Authenricated users" to be able to import Software. Check and duplicate their groups.

    I am added in same groups as like my Team memebers.

    Is your account imported from AD or manually created?  We have had similar account oddities and the workaround was to delete the account and re-create.  Or if you are importing, delete the account and let the AD import re-create the account for you.  Good luck!

    Try adding your account to Symantec Administrators.
