Endpoint Protection

I am trying to install an unmanaged client of SEP 12.1.6 onto a Windows 10 machine. The installer gets to almost the end and reverses all changes. I am attaching the install log.

The error thrown is a generic one. I would try installing SEP with only core components first to see if that works.

Check if this KB , remove it and try it was for older versions but just give it a try

You are trying to install 12.1.6 MP1a , download the latest version of symantec from fileconnect (12.1.6 MP5) and try installing it, it should work.

If you wants to install the same version of symantec then 

Disable windows defender and try installing it, It should work.

We had the same issue: it was the version of SEP that was causing the issue, as stated by Rafeeq. We were able to install SEP 12.1.6 MP4 and SEP 12.1.6 MP5 on Windows 10 with no issues and we didn’t' have to uninstall any Windows updates. Good luck and click the mark as solution on the answer when you have solved your issue so other IT administrators can find the solution faster.
