Hi all,

I've inherited a 2003 standard box which i am unable to install Symantec AV 12.1.6318.610

It appears there is reminence of an older version of symantec which does not appear to have been uninstalled properly. I've run clean wipe and tried installing the above version over the top but each time i run the installed i get a box appearing requesting a reboot of the server.

I've found various articles regarding deleting reg entries and symantec related folders but none seem to help.

Can anyone offer any advice or any other tools that can assist?

Thanks for your feedback. It looks like i wasn't too clear above, I've tried cleanwipe but it did not make a difference.

Cleanwipe ran and completed, i reboot the server, i start the install again and boom....you need to reboot.

May be something stuck in the registry, try this:

Unfortunately no luck again, After i completed what the guide suggested and rebooted the server, i ran the setup again and it flagged up requesting a reboot again.

Really appreciate your help so if you have any further ideas or if you need any more info to help troubleshoot this let me know

Do not reboot the server after deleting the key. Delete the key and immediately run setup again.

This unfortunately makes no difference.

I ran cleanwipe again and get the below error, Not sure if you can offer any suggestions on this either. My google searches aren't helping too much

I'll give this a go, thanks. I don't suppose you have a script to do this?

I've found various different scripts but had little success so far. I just don't want to spend hours going through the registry searching for keys that are often not there.

I don't have a script for this.
