Unable to login to Symantec Protection Center web access

    Hi all,

    I am using SEPM v12.1.4104.4130 and I am trying to access Symantec Protection Center web based at https://SERVER:8443/portal/Login.jsp

    I entered my admin login details but I was told the ID/password were incorrect. Just to double check, I access the SEPM console and it worked. So I know the ID/password I have is correct.

    I also tried the default login details which was admin/admin but that did not work too.

    Do I need a different login details to access Symantec Protection Center web access? If so, how do I set up the login details?

    admin/admin is the default login after initial install.

    Can you try creating an account in SEPM to see if you can login with that?

    it should be the same, when you reset the pass it will rest at the SEPM server, you should use that ID and pass.

    Do you have multiple domain set up in SEPM? if yes the from the log on page, use the drop down menu and enter the domain..

    Hi Brian,

    I created a new ID - admin1 and gave it full admin access.

    Then tried to log in using the new details and it stil returned as "The username or password you entered is incorrect." which is very strange...

    You're thinking of the SEPM web console access. I was referring to Symantec Protection Center web console. :)

    Did you ever figure this out?  I'm experiencing the same issue.  I can login to SEPM and the regular web console without issue, but cannot log into the protection center.

    I just got it.  The initial login to the Protection Center is not related to your SEPM.  You login with admin/admin, change your password for the protection center....THEN link to the SEPM (give it a server name/IP, username, password, etc).  You can then use the Protection center to link other Symantec products into one portal.  

    Hope this helps someone else.

    What Exact SPC version are you using ?

    Thanks for the reply. I've checked and it's v1. It's built in within SEPM v12. The atticle you posted above seems to apply to v2 only.

     

    Do you have any suggestions?
