Unable to lookup the name of the account associated with the specified SID

    When viewing pages under Settings -> Remote Management -> Out of Band Management -> Configuration Service Settings (with the exception of "DNS Configuration"), I'm receiving the following errors:

     

    Unable to lookup the name of the account associated with the specified SID

    Current user can't view this page.

     

    All of the controls are grayed out and unavailable on these pages.  This is while running as a Symantec Administrator and Local Administrator of the machine.

    The server running the SMP service is also the OOB server (we don't have a multi-tier implementation of Altiris, yet).  The App ID is the same domain user account as what is running SMP.  I'm also using the same IIS web site as what SMP is using for the OOB settings.

    SMP/OOB box is Server 2008 R2, running SMP 7.1.6797.  I've rebooted the box a few times as notated that this error can occur during upgrades from older versions (we didn't do an upgrade, but I tried anyways).

    SQL requires mixed mode authentication for this solution.  Have you confirmed that the DB is in mixed mode?

    Have you tried a repair of the solutions?  This is a good first step.

    I believe the users are separate from the Altiris accounts/roles.  Have you added users at Settings > Remote Management > Out of Band Management > Configuration Service Settings > Users?  If this is greyed out, try logging in to the console using the credentials that ran the install.  Possibly the app ID but possibly something else.

    Does this help?
