  • 1.  Unable to rename-delete existing policy - error msg- SEP12RU4MP1

    Posted Sep 25, 2014 02:42 AM

    Hi All,

I have an existing exceptions policy that I am unable to rename/uncheck the "enable policy" / delete this policy. I can export it (size 4.7Mb).

I get this error message displayed : Request contents are invalid. [0x120c0000] .

I can create new policy and delete the same policy but can do nothing with an existing policy - even add a folder exception. Any ideas to have this policy deleted from database (note: policy is not in use and not assigned) . I had restore an older policy to replace this "corrupt" policy.

    SEP12RU4MP1 installed.

I suggest you can contact symantec support.

See this old articles related SEP 12.1 RU1

Restart the Databse service/server and try it again.

It's probably a change they will need to make in the DB itself

Support requested that I follow this article and stated that within my policy :

The error is caused by the string "Javascript" in a couple of the exceptions.

After removing the entries with the above string - the policy is now working again.

I had a workaround before I got to the actual issue.

Feel free to update the other thread to the correct Solution then (i.e. the one where I linked the same article and tested JavaScript entries for you on 12.1RU5) wink

In addition, you should also update this thread with your actual solution instead of the one for calling support.
