  • 1.  Unable to sign a key

    Hello,

We are using PGP command line ver 10.0 build 674 on Windows 2008.

We have created a new key pair, I have impoted the public key on another local system which was successful.

Now when we try to sign the key we have imported so we can use the public key to encryupt a sample file, it gives the following error.

    My command:

    >pgp --sign-key "PSDBA <email@inc.com>" --signer C116575 --passphrase 'internal passphrase'

C116575:sign key (1053:signing key not found)

Alternatively I changed the comamnd to

    >pgp --sign-key "PSDBA <email@inc.com>" --signer PSDBA --passphrase 'internal passphrase'

PSDBA: sign key(3049:key unsuitable for signing)

Can you please give details on what does signer and sign-key should be to verfy the sign-key?

Do you happen to ahve a telephone to Technical support we can call and request for help?

You earliest response is greatly apprecaited.

    Thanks,

    Ramesh

    HI Ramesh,

The syntax is correct. Make sure you are using your a keypair to sign the key.
