  • 1.  Unable to view hardware for managed inventory

    I've recently taken over administering our Symantec CMS 7.6 application and noticed we are no longer collecting hardware information such as memory, etc. I've confirmed that the policy is enabled for the inventory plugin and that it is installed on the workstations I'm testing on. This feature was working previously and it is unknown what changed. Software inventory is working just fine.

    The only change I've made so far was to uncheck the box stating I only want to collect changes (deltas) which had no effect.

    Does this affect machines that previously had hardware inventory reporting or just new builds?

    Is the Inventory Agent installed on the workstation? Does the Inventory Agent need upgrading? (you can check the installation policies for this)

    If you go to the resource manager of a workstation, got to view \ inventory, are the dataclasses created and populated?

    It looks like there is a small subset of workstations that aren't reporting hardware but these images are old and from the previous team. I will look into reimaging the affected workstations.
