  • 1.  Unexpected server error. ErrorCode: 0x10010000

I receive this error when I try to launch Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1, whatever the current version is. This is on a Dell T720 server running Windows Server 2012r2.

Once the error happens I can't view anything in the Home, Monitors and Report tabs. The rest of the tabs don't seem to be affected. I had a luck a few times where a restart solved it but it will come back once I close SEP Manager and try relaunching it. This happens if I launch the web manager or the app.

    Any ideas?

To resolve this issue, add the database user account to the Local Administrators group on the computer on which you have installed SEPM. For more information, see the following Microsoft web page:

Cooldude, I tried adding a member to a local group and that doesn't work.  This path to Groups "Computer Management\System Tools\Local Users and Groups\Groups" doesn't exist.

When I go to Computer Management > System Tools, there is no Local Users and Groups section.
