Endpoint Protection

I have been trying to uninstall my SAV corporate edition that I installed on my computer when I was a student.  I no longer have access to my college website and can't find any way to uninstall.  When I download the uninstall pkg for mac from the symantec website, it opens up as gobbledy gook in textedit.  Please help me!  I am drowning in SAV error messages!

Yes - unfortunately that is the download that shows up as gobbledy gook when I unstuff it, and I'm not sure where else to turn.... Ack!

Those tools are for the consumer build.  This is what you will want to use.

It's a plain Terminal script, very easy to use, requiring only that you put in your computer's admin password.

Thank you!  It seems as though running that script worked.  Phew.

I did save it, but when I opened it, it was just the long string of characters and text.  It wouldn't run.

I just ran the terminal script that sandra g suggested and that worked...

I see that, but it was not visible unless you scrolled to the bottom, which if the file failed to be useable, why would anyone look there?    The document itself is old (2005), references NAV 10.0.x & is from the consumer KB; the download is compressed with Stuffit, which is more uncommon for OS X 10.6, and probably why it comes up as gobbledygook when trying to open it.  I would retire that link if I were you
