i am trying to uninstall live update 3.1 after removing symantec 10.1.7 corp. ed. and it just hangs.  can somebody please help me get this uninstalled?

Restart the pc and try to uninstall once again.If not helps contact Support and get cleanwipe utility and use it... 

i have the server in safemode now.  I have called support and they told me to try coming here.  I will attempt the clean wipe if i can get ahold of it.

i don't think you can uninstall a program in safemode.Try to uninstall in normal mode... 

ok i got the cleanwipe tool and it has so far restarted the server and now running the bat file (uninstaller) it apperars to just be hanging still as the progress bar is not moving and the status message is saying "waiting for LiveUpdate components to quit..."  it also says at the top of that status window "not responding".

open cmd prompt
and type this
taskkill /f /im "luall.exe"
in the task manager kill all liveupdate process.
