I have tried everything to uninstall the Symantec Endpoint Protection program from my personal laptop (which is required before I change operating systems)..  Cleanwipe gives me errors so that's not helping and doing a registry change is much more advanced than my limited IT skills.  Is there a simple password that I can enter when prompted (and yes--I've tried "symantec", "admin", "12345" etc.)?

    Hello,

Usually you don't need any password to run CleanWipe. Are you sure you're using the latest version of CleanWipe?
I've attached the last version of this tool. Run it and let us know how it went. Upload the logs if the uninstall is not complete.

Also try to run it using Local Admin account.

    Hoe this helps. Cheers !!

Cleanwipe doesn't prompt for a password. Are you sure you have the right one? Call support and they will verify you have an active support contract before providing the latest version.

Otherwise you can go the manual removal route:

    Hello,

I am having issues with Cleanwipe as well. I manually uninstalled Symantec from my computer, but when I went to update my computer to windows 10, I get an error that I still need to remove the software.

Can you please advise on what next steps I should take to get this off of my computer? I find it to be extremely frustrating that the uninstall process is not easier.

    Thanks for your help!!!!

    Hello,

You should run the latest version of Cleanwipe to wipe out all the SEP releated entries OR install latest version of SEP prior to ugprade to Windows 10. Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) adds support for Windows 10 with 12.1.6 MP1.

SEP 12.1 RU6 MP5 is the latest version.
