  • 1.  unlock server group error - Can't communicate with the Server Group

    Posted Jul 14, 2010 02:29 AM
    Hello,

I am unable to unlock the Server Group of Symantec system center console, Even if i know, the log in credentials are correct and there is no network problem (since the machine, where i got this error is the Symantec server machine itself).

This problem been observed after definition files been loaded on 4th July 2010. the other symtomps are - some of the programs (including Symantec system center) are highlighted in start program menu as newly installed programs, while they are not.

Please note that with the same credentials, i am able to log-in the Symantec client on same machine - hence log-in credentials are correct and hence no security issue as well.....

Pl. find the screen capture of:
    unlock error
    new programs installed list
    Symantec version

your earliest support will be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,.

    Regards,
    Manoj

Reset the LoginCaCertIssueSerialNum registry value on Primary server

    Stop the Symantec AntiVirus service

    In registry go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\LanDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion\ScSComms\LocalData

    1. In the right pane, double-click the LoginCaCertIssueSerialNum value.
    2. Under Base, click Decimal.
    3. If the Value data box shows a number that is larger than 256, then replace with a 1.
    4. Click OK.
    5. Close Registry
    6. Start the Symantec AntiVirus service.
