    Hi Guys,

Since we updated our boxes from 8 to latest v9 we see that anti spam updates on avarage are older than 12 hours... Is this normal? what should we check if not?

    Thanks

My defs appear to be updating every few minutes.  More frequent updates was supposed to be a feature of SBG 9.  How are you finding out how often they are updating (which logs)?

    Hi,

I just saw it on the dashboard, it states 'updated 12 hours ago'

So its not normal and I should check deeper.

    any thought where?

    ez,

I would check the time on your appliance. I had a customer last night that updated and his time changed somehow.

You can find out the time on the command-line interface with the 'date' command, and it will also be displayed in the top right corner of the Status page.

    Hi J.

We noticed that when scanner 4 was down for maintenance the status page stated that the spam defs were only a couple of minutes old. So as you suggested, the closck of that scanner was behind, not the 14 hours the status page indicated the spam updates where old, but one hour behind. Updating the time on that scanner via the SBG GUI fixed it, the stauspage now states that the updates are 2 minutes old and I am smiling again :)

    Thanks

BTW, Strange that the control center does not keep the clocks in sync on all scanners. You can select the same time server on all scanners/CC but I do feel this is something the CC schould do

ezHurgen - and if the Scanners are in a different time zone, with different DST rules?  best practice would be to point the scanners at an NTP time source.
