  • 1.  Updating the AClient on a Server

I am in the process of trying to update the AClient on a server.  This server is our SIS server and with that particular software, we are unable to use Remote Desktop, so the next best thing to use is the Remote Control portion of Altirs from the Deployment console.  We are on 6.9 SP2.  I have tried several times to use the Remote Agent Installer to update the AClient but I get this message:  "Multiple connection to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed.  Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource again."  Now, I needed to install some security updates on that server this morning, and have rebooted it...  This is probably an easy fix, I'm just not sure where to look... Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks :)

Are you trying to use Altiris Remote Control in Deployment Server to remote the server and upgrade the AClient?

I suspect that will not work as the remote control is part of the AClient.

Why don't you enable automatic agent upgrade?: Go to your DS server, Control Panel, Altiris Deployment Server Options. Click Options, then Transport Tab and tick Automatically update clients.

After i posted this, I realize that I didn't pass on all of the necessary information.... I was logged onto that server (SIS Server/PowerSchool) and I right clicked on the AClient (which at the time was inactive because the ip address of the server had changed).  I changed the IP Address right there and made sure that the rest of my settings were to our liking.  I've actually done that on a couple of different servers but had no issues.  Rebooted just in case when the changes were done and the rest of my servers are showing up in the console.

Altiris Deployment Server Options.. that is located under the Tools drop down menu, Correct?... if so, when I click on the Options, there is no Transport Tab... so I could very well be in the wrong place...

sorry for my lack of knowledge...  just some new lingo that I am not familar with...

    Thanks :)

Is the AClient or DAgent reporting into the DS Console?
