You do not need to RESTART the server. The SEPM upgrade can be done during the during the production ...

Hi All,
Looking to upgrade SEP Manager from MR4 MP4 to RU5 and can't seem to find any details of wether a service or server restart is required. I need these details so I know if this upgrade needds to be done out of hours or not. Thanks.

You do not need to RESTART the server. The SEPM upgrade can be done during the during the production hours, but the client upgrade should be done out of hours

Just follow the kb and that is all that you need to do.

Thanks for the link! That doco does state that the SEPM service needs to be stopped for the upgrade meaning there is an outage, and for our change control at least means I won't be able to do it during business hours.
