  • 1.  Upgrade SEPM 11.0.4000.2295 to 11.0.5002.333, no new client install packages

I upgraded one of other SEPMs last week. When upgrading a SEP 11 version to another SEP 11 version the migration and deployment wizard doesn't need to be used correct? A straight up setup.exe installation over top of the earlier version is how it's done?

I did get a "Failed to install Management Server Service. You should restart your computer and try again."  error when upgrading but after rebooting, (the management server service was not installed) but after trying again it worked.

After what looks like the SEPM upgrade being finished another window pops up "Management Server Configuration Wizard". (This is where it failed the first time). The second time it finishes successfully.

After upgrading the SEPM the old Client Install Packages (11.0.4000.2295) are there but the new version packages have not been added. I haven't installed SEPM in a while and I don't remember having to install the packages separately, I thought it was part of the install process.

it should be part of install process, should have put it
try doing a repair when the repair finishes , it should run the db upgrade wait for it ,
    check if it appears
if not you can add it manually
    open sepm
    admin
    packages
    select add packages
browse to the packages folder of  CD1 (Symatnec endpoint protection)
same way add 64 bit pacakge too :

Thanks. I finally did figure it out late yesterday adding the SAV32 and SAV64 info files.

    Thanks again.
