    Posted Aug 10, 2010 12:38 PM
i upgraded from 6 to 7 and i'm having issues with the agents/plugins not installing.

they will show on the clients as waiting to be downloaded and show that they tried, and tried ....

has anyone else seen this or have any clues.

these computers are running xp pro sp3, all are mobile, but are a lan's and not remote--yet.

    thanks

From the log messages, I see 2 potential problems:

    1) Scheduled tasks on the Notification Server are disabled / not running
....Indicated by the log message The specified resoruce is not ready ... This condition is temporary and will be resolved by the next collection update

...If the scheduled tasks are in a state of "Could not start", you can change the NS.Weekly scheduled task to run as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM and run it. This should recreate the scheduled tasks with the correct user name and password.

    2) Your NS / Package servers may be overloaded
...Indicated by the log message Error while downloading package: Server is busy. Package sources request is backing off.

...You can try increasing the MaxConcurrentPackageInfoRequests value using the nsConfigurator tool. KB about NSConfigurator in NS 7: (https://kb.altiris.com/article.asp?article=45132&p=1)

...Depending on the number of clients per package server you have, it might be advisable to add more package servers.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
