  • 1.  Upgrading SQL 2005 to SQL 2008

    I have a 11.0 MR4 SEPM connected to a SQL 2005 DB iam planing to upgrade my DB to SQL 2008 (without uninstalling my SEPM if possible), please help me with the best practice.

    Hi David,

    The article says to uninstall and reinstall the SEPM,

    Iam upgrading my SQL 2005 on my Win 2003 Server to SQL 2008 on the same server (iam not moving my DB from one machine to another)

    Should i still uninstall and reinstall SEPM? if so, why?

    please assist.

    Its not needed to uninstall your SEPM
    RU5 11.0.5000 only supports 2008
    so upgrade your sepm to mu5
    then upgrade your sql to 2008
