URGENT: ITMS 7.1 Patch Management Agent configuration Policy issue

    Hi

I work for a trading company and due to the 24/7 nature of some of our trading desks we need to restrain some of our patching policies we have been requested by the business to stop automated patch management on a select group of machines and complete the updates manually.

I have created a new filter that is excluded from the other patch filters and I have created a new agent policy which I am trying to configure so that updates are applied to machines but arent installed on a schedule the installation must be initiated by the user from within the software updates tab of the management agent.

Can someone please shed some light on this and let me know if this is possible or not.

    Any assistance is highly appreciated

    Hi HAFFDOGG,

To implement your scenario, you should check that machines from created new filter(machines where  updates should be installed by user) are really excluded from all targets of other Software Update Plug-in policies. Then create separate policy with the only target that includes your created filter, set scheduled time to 2030 year(start time) and allow user to run updates.

In this case updates distributed to machines from created filter will be scheduled to 2030 year and you will be able to run updates manually.

    Hope this helps,
    Roman
