Hi,
We are currently helping our client to upgrade SEE from 8.2.1 to 11.2. Yet, we cannot distribute the agent installers via software delivery programs, and we cannot use GPO since we use native policies.
Since Altiris is also one of your offerings, please let us know if we have missed out particular settings or plug-ins to deliver and install the SEE agents remotely successfully.
Is there anyone who has tried upgrading the SEE agents remotely? Please tell me whether you used Altiris or other useful manners.
------------------- ENVIRONMENT INFORMATION -------------------
Altiris SMP 7.5 (Windows server2008r2, sql 2008r2)
SEE 11.2/8.2.1 (Widows server: 2008r2, SQL: 2008r2)
Clients: windows 7
------------------- QUESTION -------------------
Scenario:
Using Altiris SMP 7.5 to distribute SEE 11.2 agents to clients.
We are upgrading SEE 8.2.1 MP11 to SEE 11.2.
We use the scripts provided in the SEE 11.2 upgrade guide to pack the agent installer:
msiexec /i "SEE Client_x64.msi" /norestart REBOOT="ReallySupress" REINSTALLMODE="vemus" ADDLOCAL="ALL" CONDITION_NOUI=1 /l*v "%windir%\SEEupgrade.log"
the error message we got:
CanUpgradeProduct: Error: Older Version of SEE Endpoint Encryption is present on system, upgrade can not continue with /qn mode, Aborting Installation.
(See attachment see020887PC018203_install_1.log)
Is there a methodology to distribute SEE upgrade agents like this?
Please advise.
We appreciate your kind consideration and are looking forward to your prompt reply.
Best regards,
Eileen Lee
