I am using the latest version of VIP Access on a Windows 10 desktop. It will not open. It installed without any issues but will not open when double clicked. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it with no success. I tried diabling all startup and services with no luck. Please help.

Same, Windows Event Viewer shows the following:

    Event ID 1:

The description for Event ID 1 from source VIP Access cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Same problem here. And no one is answering the thread. Big secure company like this, you's think they'd be all over this.

Greetings. We are beginning to see this issue increase in our environment as well. The issue has been seen on windows 7 and windows 10 machines. We have both versions 2.2.1.13 and 2.2.3.3 in our environment.

Reinstalling VIP access does not generally fix the issue. In 2.2.3.3 the process VIPUIManager.exe is running in the task manager. The application has been previously registered and working.

These are the current Hofixes applied to a computer having this issue

I just noticed that on a fresh install of Windows 10 VIP Access installs and runs just fine. It is on Windows 10 systems that had attempted to install a previous version of VIP Access that it fails (and, of course, that version failed to install because of Windows 10).

I assume there is some remnant of the program sitting on the computer that did not get uninstalled, either in personal data, progarm or the registry.

Here is what worked for me on a Windows 7 x64 machine:

First, try stopping the following service :

The Intel® Dynamic Application Loader (DAL) Host Interface Service is a component of the Intel® Identity Protection Technology that is installed with the ME firmware toolkit. The Intel® DAL Host Interface Service is a Windows service and provides basic communication services. Intel® IPT with PKI uses the Intel® Management Engine (Intel® ME) and 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5 or i7 vPro™ processor-powered systems to provide a hardware based security solution.

If VIP access runs after that service is disabled, uninstall the Intel Management Engine via Add/Remove Programs, and reboot.

I was working with a client on trying to get this application started and stopping this service did NOT fix the issue.  Even disabling the service and restarted the computer with the service disabled did not work.

Are there any official fixes for this issue from Symantec, or is this the only solution that is working for people?
