  • 1.  Virus Definition Problems

    Hi everyone

    Since The beggining of the im having issues with the brightmail gateway

    the virus definition on console show the last definition from january



    Virus definitions: 2010-1-4 (4)


    but every day i receive e-mails from brightmail saying the following

    ======================= ALERT NOTIFICATION ================================              

    New virus filters are available on the following hosts:

    Host

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Local Host: my ip

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

    the LIveupdate settings are saying the definitions failed to install

    LiveUpdate Settings  
     
    Last LiveUpdate attempt: Wednesday, Feb 24, 2010 11:10:00 AM BRT
    Last virus definitions LiveUpdate status: Failed
    Virus definitions version (revision): 2010-1-4 (4)



    Anyone know what can i do to solve these issue??

    Do you see any errors in the logs?

    I looked at.. but these kb didnt solve my problem.. i tried to reset the times but still didnt work...

    any other ideas??

    Can you please provide the error messages you are getting in the logs related to JLU Controller and JLU Client (on Status > Logs page) to further troubleshoot the issue.

    In the meantime, try increasing the timeout value further; may be your connection is too slow.  What is the current timeout set to?  You can go as high as 90 minutes.

    As a workaruond, you can try switching to Respnose Response virus defs by selecting the option "" on Virus > LiveUpdate page if you are running into the following known issue:
