Hi All,

We had an issue with IPS definitions failing on our symantec server. We re installed liveupdate on the servers. While going through the live update downloads. I found the definitions revision date as below. Just want to cross check if this is correct as the dates look very old. I have attached a screen shot.

Any help or input on this would be great.

I think that was a silly question just understood after reading through. I am guessing is it for clients at version 11.0

Yes, 11.x no longer receives update. You need to get to 12.1, preferably 14.

One more question is the latest IPS for 14.0 Ru1 is 01/15/2018 r40 ? Can i check this any where to validate all the dates in the list ?

I did check this website was not sure if it was pointing to the correct one. Because the server shows the that it has the latest definitions but in the manager when i click show download status it shows older date.

This is the correct site to use for verification.

I cross checked with LU i see that SEPM CIDS signature update is failing. Even after re installing LU. Any suggestions what can be done for that.

It gives an error LU1821: This update failed because it tried to overwrite a file that was in use. Close all symantec applications and run the LiveUpdate again. 

I made sure all the applications were closed. Does it require all services also to be stopped. Could not find any solution for that on the net. I made sure SEPM matches with the corresponding LU also. But no go.

Current version

SEPM 14.0.3752.1000 (RU1)  LU v:3.3.201.36

You could start by rebooting the SEPM. Then try again. If that doesn't work then run the SymDiag tool for additional error checking.

That did not work. I tried this on a server where many updates are failing. I get the below error. Is it worth trying to install LU v 3.3.202.6 for RU1

LU1825: LiveUpdate could not understand how to install this update. You may need to get the latest version of LiveUpdate before you can install this update

Yes, you could install the latest version of LU. Otherwise, you may want to get a case opened up with support.
