Mac or Windows.  Windows we can push upgrades out to, so that's doable.  Macs are always manually upgrades?  That's what I've been doing.

We got a handful of potential user machines we will prep and probably never see again.  They'll be online and around but we won't work with them anymore.  They will have SEP on them before we part with them.

We can push out updates to Windows machines.

Are Macs always a manual update?  There's no push option available for Macs?

If we do prep a Mac with 12.1.5 (or now 12.1.6 we we do that), what happens if we never upgrade it after that?  How much of a security concern is that?

You can configure the SEPM as a reverse proxy to update Macs or they will get updates from LiveUpdate.

In terms of upgrading, unless there is a vulnerability or bug, I suppose it could run on the version you set it up with. Ideally, you want to stay on the latest release but that's not always doable. Shouldn't be much harm in doing this.
